Everett E. Edwards Award
The Agricultural History Society remembers editor and scholar Everett E. Edwards by awarding a prize in his name to the graduate student who submits the best manuscript on any aspect of agricultural and rural studies during the calendar year. The award includes a cash prize and certificate presented to the author at the Society's annual meeting. Graduate students (defined as one who has not completed a terminal degree at the time of submission) can submit three copies of the manuscript to the editor of Agricultural History by December 31, 2008 for next year’s award.

Vernon Carstensen Memorial Award
Former students established the Vernon Carstensen Award in 1980 to recognize his services to the field of agricultural history. Carstensen served as editor of Agricultural History from 1953 to 1957 and was president of the Agricultural History Society from 1957 to 1958. The Carstensen award is given for the best article published in Agricultural History during the calendar year that is judged best by the award committee. The award includes a cash prize and certificate presented to the author at the Society's annual meeting.

Wayne D. Rasmussen Award
To recognize his dedication to the field, the society offers the Wayne D. Rasmussen Award to the author of the best article on agricultural history published by a journal other than Agricultural History during the calendar year. The award includes a cash prize and certificates for the author and publisher, which are presented at the Society's annual meeting. Journal editors and authors are encouraged to submit three copies of articles for consideration to the editor of Agricultural History by December 31, 2008.

Gilbert C. Fite Dissertation Award
The Agricultural History Society presents the Gilbert C. Fite Award to the author of the best dissertation on any aspect of agricultural history, broadly interpreted, completed during the current calendar year in honor of Fite’s distinguished corpus of work and lifelong devotion to student excellence. The award includes a cash prize and certificate presented to the author at the Society's annual meeting. Those interested in the award should submit three copies of the dissertation to the editor of Agricultural History by December 31, 2008.

Theodore Saloutos Memorial Award
The Agricultural History Society established the Theodore Saloutos Memorial Award in 1982 in memory of the distinguished historian and past president of the Agricultural History Society. At its annual meeting, the Society presents a cash prize and a certificate to the author of a book on any aspect (broadly interpreted) of agricultural history in the United States, judged best by the award committee. The book must be based on substantial primary research and should represent a major new scholarly interpretation or reinterpretation of agricultural history scholarship. A book may be nominated by its author, the publisher, a member of the award committee, or a member of the Society. Submit nominations to the editor of Agricultural History by December 31, 2008. Publishers should send four copies of the book to the Agricultural History journal office for award consideration.

History of Agriculture and Rural Life Award
The society established the History of Agriculture and Rural Life Award to raise awareness of agricultural and rural history among secondary school students interested in history. Projects in any of the National History Day categories are eligible, including papers, dramatic presentations, media presentations, and exhibits, both by individuals and groups at either the Senior or Junior levels. The award includes a cash prize, a certificate, and a complimentary issue of Agricultural History, in which the winner of the award is announced.
