The Agricultural History Society was founded in Washington, DC in 1919 "to promote the interest, study and research in the history of agriculture." The society interprets this mission broadly, as creating a conversation about the key political, economic, environmental, and social issues surrounding agriculture without geographic, temporal, or methodological constraints. We strive to build a discourse that cuts across historical sub-disciplines and draws in insights from the full range of social, biological, and environmental sciences.
