2009 Annual Meeting

The Agricultural History Society Annual 2009 Annual Meeting will be hosted by the University of Arkansas at Little Rock from June 18-20, 2009. The theme of this year’s conference, "The Changing Face of Agriculture and the Rural Landscape," is expected to attract a wide range of scholars, and we look forward to welcoming new colleagues as well as familiar faces at this meeting.

The program for the 2009 meeting will be posted when complete.

In the next few months, more information about the conference will be posted on this website as it becomes available. Until then, here is some preliminary information about the meeting, and you can view the Call for Papers.

HOTEL OPTIONS

DoubleTree Hotel Little Rock is the conference hotel. A guest room rate of $100 per night has been reserved for the conference. Contact the hotel directly at 501-372-4371 or 1-800-937-2789. The hotel is located at 424 West Markham Avenue, a block from President Clinton Avenue and within in walking distance of the Clinton Presidential Library and the corporate headquarters of Heifer International.

Wyndam Riverfront Hotel, located across the river from the DoubleTree Hotel at # 2 Riverfront Place, North Little Rock, the Wyndam offers guest rooms for the conference at $89.00 Contact the hotel at 501-907-4800.

LaQuinta Hotel, located at 7th Street and Broadway, offers a Conference room rate of $79.00. Van service will be provided between all three hotels on a continuous basis throughout the conference.

TRANSPORTAION
Each hotel provides complimentary van service from Little Rock National Airport. Taxi service is approximately $20.00 for a 20-minute commute to the hotels.

LOCAL INTEREST TOURS
Complimentary transportation and free admission will be offered to the Central High School Civil Rights Museum, the Clinton Presidential Library, and Heifer International Headquarters.

REGISTRATION INFORMATION
On-line registration as well as a registration form will be available in October.
