Congratulations to the 2025 AHS Grant Award Recipients!

After convening this past fall, the grant committee of the AHS executive is now pleased to announce that the following scholars have been selected to receive funding for research, dissemination, exhibition, or outreach:

Graduate Student: Nicole Adrian, Angus Cummings, David Strickler

Early Career: Taylor Cozzens, Catherine Peters

Contingent Faculty/Independent Scholar: Peter Fraunholtz, Lisa Ossian

Public History: Hayden Nelson

This year the Society increased the number of awards given from five to eight, and we received a record number of applications overall. There were no applications in the senior career category, so the committee elected to make a third award in the heavily subscribed graduate student category. 

The grant committee consisted of Diana Méndez Rojas and David Vail (co-chairs), Dolly Jørgensen, Tim Lorek, Mart Stewart, and Amrys Williams. We thank them for their service to the Society.

We will once again be offering our grant program in 2026. A revised and updated call will be posted to our website by July 1. The application deadline will be September 15. Please spread the word!
